Days 3 to 7
El Questro is the perfect base for exploring all the wonders the Kimberley has to offer. The property is situated in a rugged desert landscape, yet is abundant with Australian flora and fauna. The kids can run around, explore the wide-open spaces or swim in the tranquil swimming hole. The Steakhouse restaurant is open morning to night and serves a selection of local food and drink including mouth-watering barramundi and beef. For something a little less formal, the The Swinging Arm Bar has a weekly BBQ where you can tuck into traditional Aussie grub or wood-fired pizza, while listening to live music. The family rooms at The Station enjoy river or garden views and have a mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The next 5 days will leave enduring memories. Anything you ever dreamed of seeing or experiencing in the Kimberley is right here at El Questro – heart of the Kimberley.

Waterfalls - walk to some easily, but other can only be accessed by helicopter.

Hikes and treks - to cater for all abilities. Some have swimming holes or relaxing thermal springs.

Ancient gorges - explore the waterfalls and lush vegetation.

Unique local fishing spots - catch something for dinner!.

Lookouts - to experience the majestic views.

Mighty rivers - three of them run through El Questro.

Australian flora and fauna - many unique species to see, including more than 100 bird varieties.

Pack some snacks, put on your walking shoes and get the camera ready! Emma, Moonshine or Amalia Gorges will thrill you with amazing rock formations, crystal clear swimming holes and towering waterfalls. Walk through a beautiful forest of Livistonia Palms to take a dip in the thermal waters of Zebedee Springs. There are plenty of walking trails from The Station for easy afternoon exploring. For experienced 4-wheel-drivers, Saddle Back Ridge track is a real challenge! Just 7kms round trip from The Station to the Pentecost Valley. Experience this wonderful outback adventure. The Valley is famed for its rocky terrain and riverside vegetation. If you decide to drive to the top you’ll be rewarded with a remarkable 360 degree view. From a high platform over-looking sandstone escarpments, El Questro stretches out below you.

Day 8
Bid a fond farewell to El Questro and head into Wyndham. Visit the Five Rivers Lookout. This is the where the Durack, King, and Pentecost Rivers join the Forrest and Ord Rivers. The view of the rivers and mud flats sprawl in every direction. This area is described as one of the most unusual and remarkable vistas in Australia so don not forget your camera! The Five River Café in Wyndham serves its famous Barra Burgers, named by Lonely Planet as one of Australia’s top five Brunches. Visit the Prison Tree before heading back to Kununurra for an overnight stay. In the morning take an optional flight over the Bungle Bungles. Or if you all rise early, you can walk to Kelly’s Knob lookout at sunrise. It’s an easy walk just over a kilometre from town, and well worth the effort to enjoy those glorious views. You can see across to the Ord Irrigation area, Lake Kununurra and the famous Sleeping Buddha (also called Elephant Rock). Don’t forget to visit one of the local art shops before taking the afternoon flight to Darwin. Return the car at the Airport before your flight.

Day 9
Your previous stop in Darwin left you no time for everything there is to see and do. This time you get to make use of your 24 Hour Hop On Hop Off pass to visit the famous Crocosaurus Cove in the heart of Darwin City, the Royal Flying Doctor Service Museum and Bombing of Darwin Story.

Educational, entertaining, and sometimes heart-stopping, the whole family will enjoy their visit to Crocosaurus Cove whilst the Museum is both interesting and educational. You may want to add the Aviation Museum where you can see 19 aircraft including a B52 bomber and 21 engines and relics of crashed aircraft.

Day 10
Today is yours to leisurely explore Darwin . Why not experience some Aboriginal Culture on an optional morning tour with Pudakul. You would need to rent a car for the day and head 50 minutes out of town, along the Arnhem Highway to the Adelaide River Wetland area.. The area is bursting with native wildlife and plants, and is the perfect backdrop for your local guides to teach you about their history and culture. This fascinating 2-hour tour ends with billy tea and damper before finishing up around 12.45pm. Cost 305.00 for a family of 5. There’s still plenty to do on your last afternoon - maybe the kids would enjoy a splash at the wave pool at the Waterfront while you soak up some sunshine? Or visit the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets. With 200 speciality stores and food vendors right on the beach, everyone will be happy. Where better to spend the last night of your unforgettable family holiday.

Day 11
